Good animation, but it really needs to be longer.

Good solid animation, but it was a bit short. I understand that this was just a demonstration of your upcoming works, but it still felt a little short, and from this little snippet, there's only about 2 seconds of actual animation (the landing, and then the little fighty bit at the end.)

All in all, it didn't look too bad, but like I said, a larger sample of your work would be more appreciated.

"this is to certify that House is faking his limp"

I totally loved this animation.
The characters were well-drawn, and you managed to make a very close likeness to Hugh Laurie, and for that I commend you.

As I was watching your animation, I was convinced that if anyone was going to do something creepy, it was going to be the little blonde girl, but you completely led me in the wrong direction with that one, and I've got to say that it made the "punchline" all the more funny.

I really liked the subtle "background humour" that you've put into this piece. Such things as House's diploma in the background (which merely certifies that his limp is faked), and his scribbled-out name on the front of his door are just pure comedy genius.

Also, the 'bonus scene' at the end about poor people having to have children purely so that they can eat something at christmas was just genius. Was that Roan Atkinson's voice that I heard in there?

It's at this point in a review that I would normally put some sort of little criticism to help the author/animator improve, but really, I can't find anything significant to fault you on. (If anything at all)

Enjoy your ten stars and five ginger-kid rating. You've earned it!

TmsT responds:

Yes, it was Rowan Atkinson indeed. The soundbite was from Blackadder III - a much more ingenious (and hilarious) show than House, to be sure. :]

It's okay, for a walk cycle.

It's good, for a walk cycle. I'm assuming that the character depicted is supposed to be injured.

The movements are crisp and clean, the character and background are nicely drawn. The only reason I'm voting so low is because, as an animation, it isn't very entertaining by itself. Once you've put all the bells and whistles on it, and made a story out of it, it'll be better.

Disturbing.

It's disturbing, but I struggle to see any apparent meaning behind it. (Other than "give yourself a terminal illness and then murder your only friend as a means to cheer yourself up."

utter brilliance.

I loved this piece. It's witty, it's funny, and it's worth every bit of my five-pico vote, and ten out of ten rating, and a well earned place on my favourites list.

I think that this piece is so brilliant, it even outshines the originals. The animation is superior to the originals by far, and the fact that there's some actual fighting rather than just 5 minutes of dialogue and dick jokes makes it all the more worthwhile.

Congratulations, sir, you have earned yourself a fan!

P.S. - Just when I thought I couldn't laugh any harder... "Don't worry, Steve, I'll pull it out."

That ain't dancing.

Re-scaling and flipping an image does not count as dancing.
FAIL!

Put some effort into your work, and I'll put some effort into reviewing it.

Chaz-o responds:

In some circles yes that IS dancing....

And no, no i will not change anything.

Brilliant.

Possibly the first Madness Combat film that I have actually enjoyed. Excellent work.
I particularly enjoyed the smooth-flowing animation, and the film was quite impresively long...
Also, the moral at the end gave me a cheap laugh.

ten stars. You deserve it, bud.

Alpha-Nuva responds:

Wow, thank you. I appreciate your detailed review as much as your compliments. <3

Front page material.

It's refreshing to see an animation on NG that doesn't completely rely on half-assed randomness to get a laugh out of the audience.
I think that this is a very nicely animated little piece, and I wouldn't be surprised if I saw it on the front page in the coming weeks.

Ten Stars.

Andrew-Buckley responds:

Im hoping for the same outcome.
Thank you for the stars and thanks for watching.

...

What a scary, screwed up place it must be inside your head...
Eight stars.

jackthetrippr responds:

Im making a piece of what I guess you could call "modern art" at the moment, in my bedroom. I've been getting alot of sun lately and my skin has been peeling, so every night before bed I peel off as much skin as possible and using my saliva as glue, I paste them onto a mirror. Its starting go brown and smell but I think its going to be rather splendid when the entire mirror is covered. Let me know if you want some pictures of it.

Hmm. Political.

I'm voting purely on the virtues of the animation itself, here... And I urge all people voting on this to do the same... If you don't agree with the political opinions expressed by this piece, then go move to a fascism where you can persecute differing ideologies all you like.

Anyway,
I thought that the animation-synching with the music was very nicely done, and the bright, bold colours and symbolism seemed very "powerful" on screen, and I'm guessing that's what you were going for...
I particularly liked the way your flags blew in the wind... Very nicely done.
Also, good choice on the tune. I can't remember the words, but it was catchy.

Points to improve on -
I thought that the humans could have done with a little more detail... In particular, the "bad guys" with their spears could have done with a bit more tinkering.

I was generous... I gave you four "little ginger kids" for this animation... But I can't help but feel that this will be blammed, since other, less open-minded people will probably vote "0", since they disagree with your political view.

Anyway, seven stars.

I'm a student studying a 32-hour a week science course, and I have a 20-hour per week job. I don't have much free time, but I spend much of it animating, drawing, and studying martial arts. I will be posting my works up here for all to see very soon.
